Welcome to A Kind Lifestyle: A Journey to More Kindness
I grew up in Mexico, where most of my daily food was unprocessed. My mom did her best to cook healthy meals, but it wasn’t until I moved to the United States that my eyes were opened—I realized I wasn’t eating or living as healthily as I thought.
At 27, I decided to give up meat and became a pescetarian. Today, my diet consists of about 80% vegan and 20% vegetarian/pescetarian foods. Why am I not 100% vegan? The truth is, I wish I were, but I haven’t been able to give it all up just yet. I don’t advocate for perfection—I advocate for reduction. The more we reduce our consumption of meat and processed foods, the better it is for our health and the environment.
It’s been 18 years since I changed my lifestyle, and it all started when I watched several documentaries and read books about how food is made. I realized that if I wanted to reduce my risk of illnesses like cancer and heart disease, I needed to change my habits. That’s when I became more intentional about everything I consume—not just food, but also clothing fabrics, home products, skincare, and makeup.
I love learning about health, from food ingredients and longevity to exercise and supplements. Mental health is also a huge passion of mine. Since becoming a mom, my mental health has been tested in ways I never expected. Parenting is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and my goal is to provide my daughter with the best tools to grow up fearless, loved, strong, and kind.
I hope my blog posts inspire you in some way and help you move toward a kinder lifestyle.
